SURABAYA – AMP Consulate Surabaya protested “New York Agreement 15th August 1962” was ILLEGAL and we condemns America, Netherlands sold out West Papua to the second colonial which Indonesia. Therefore, the Alliance Student of West Papua (AMP International) consulate Surabaya demanding to the international communities, “Self-determination is the solution for West Papua. The protest took place in Surabaya, East Java province in Indonesia.

The protester coordinator was reading the statement of AMP International consulate Surabaya, condemned allegation between America, Netherlands, and Indonesia concerning signing of the treaty called, “New York Agreement 1962 " whereas those countries rulers were becoming involved in disputes territory of West New Guinea (West Papua) on August 15th, 1962 carried out without involvement of any representative of the people of Papua in terms of the agreement relating to the future of the people of West Papua.

Indonesian military had been conditioning all over West Papua through the military operations and crushing down the pro-independence movement of the people of Papua. Before the process of self-determination have been taking place that time, Indonesia and mining company Freeport the state owned by America imperialist have signed the first contract on 7th April 1967. Business interest is the first place than West Papuan people. America, Netherlands and Indonesia are interested with West Papua resources, but human is nothing for them.

Therefore, Indonesia's claim because Dutch Indies and illegal occupation. In fact that of first contract (MoU) between America and Indonesia signed the agreement before the Act of free NO Choice 1969 will take place 2 years later. The world knew that, West Papuan population was 809, 337 in 1969, but Indonesia took 1025 hand pick with the gunpoint and forces them and put them in the camp for 2 weeks trained them vote for colonial Indonesia. In fact that Indonesian military tortured, intimidated, murderous our elder and mostly has been killed as well as implement of the (PEPERA) “Act of free NO choice 1969” undemocratic where full of terror, intimidation, and increase human right violations.

We strongly believe that, Indonesia regime is a state of terror, intimidation, arrests pro-independence activist since 1962, and barbaric behavior which Indonesia managed to slaughter 500.000 innocent civilian. Although, Indonesia continues on going of shootings and killing Papuans event the new elected president of Indonesia Joko Widodo. Indonesia look at West Papua is subhuman and West Papua is not value for them and we strongly believe that Indonesia government is running by BARBARIC government over West Papua.

In commemoration of 51 Years of the “New York Agreement 1962” between America, Netherlands, and Indonesia which is ILLEGAL and injustice without any Papuan involve. Therefore, the Papua Student Alliance (AMP-International) consulate Surabaya reject of the New York Agreement 1962. We demand to the international communities, United Nation, America, Netherlands, and Indonesia to immediately:

1. We are demanding our right of Self-Determination is a democratic solution for Papuan people.

2. We are demanding to stop the exploitation and close down all the activities of Multi National Corporation (MNC) companies owned by international imperialist include (Freeport/Rio Tinto, British Petroleum /LNG Bintuni, Medco, and Korindo) all over West Papua because those companies paid high tax payer to Indonesia government as well as provided Indonesia military equipment’s (hot jet, tanks, and arms) Indonesia dismiss used to killed West Papua civilian. Those companies it is not beneficial for West Papuan.

3. We are demanding to the Indonesia pull out Indonesian Military and Police including Organic and non-organic from West Papua immediately and STOP crimes against humanity in West Papua.

4. We are demanding to the Indonesia government to allow journalist to enter into West Papua, if Indonesia confidence and called themselves is a democracy country, so let them journalist visit to the West Papua.

5. Indonesia release two France journalists, Thomas Dandois, and Valentine Bourrat immediately, in custody Jayapura who are have been arrested few weeks ago in Wamena, West Papua.

Those five of our demand and we will continue fight against Indonesia colonialism, slavery, apartheid, oppression, and exploitation in West Papua.
